Interested in Coming and Helping Us Out With The Lunchtime Routine?

Lunchtime is a very important part of your child's day.  This is a time when they can eat their lunch and socialize with other Kindergarten children.  I will be eating with the children during their lunchtime for the first 2 days of school.  I use this time with them to assist in finding their lunch table, getting their lunch card if they are purchasing a lunch or milk, help children make healthy food choices as well as to model what eating lunch in the cafeteria looks and sounds like.

Your child will have their own lunch card with their name on it, in a pocket on a hanging chart on the wall of our cafeteria.  Your child will need to find their card if they are buying lunch or milk.  Someone from the cafeteria will be out in front by the cash register to collect lunch cards.  Please go to the school website for information regarding how to pay for your child's account.  You will also see a spot to check out the school menu too!

I would love your help during the lunch time for the first month of school.  I have created a chart below for you to sign up if you can volunteer on any of the days.  The children go to recess at 11:00AM and then go to lunch 11:25 AM until 11:50 AM.  

 In the lunchroom we have 2 adult TA'S(teaching assistants) Mr. Wayman and Ms. Ploof.  They are in the lunchroom daily and will be helping your child as well.  The beginning of school is new and it is important to help the children develop healthy habits right from the start.   I have found that with help and parent support the children seem to adjust quickly and comfortably.  I hope many of you are able to help!  Other/all family members are welcome too!  In past years some grandparents have helped as well!
