The Hour of Code

This year we are participating in the Hour of Code.  This takes place from December 3rd-7th.  We will be exploring code using the iPads, blocks, paper, markers and also with Bee Bots!  Code is an opportunity to create something that you want to design that is useful.

Why Coding?

1. It offers opportunities to create things

2.  Collaboration happens when we work alongside each other

3. It is fun.

4. I notice how my students make mathematical connections with their ideas.

5. The children learn "how to" be responsible when caring for coding resources.

6. Coding is a part of what we do and gives us opportunities to show how it is useful. Example; Creating "how to" books about "how to" care for our BeeBots.  Lots of opportunities to make connections.
